Privacy
Deleting your data.
Who to ask, what happens, and how long it takes. No form to fill in, and no reason needed.
Steps
Whichever describes you, there is one action to take.
- 01
If you are a customer, member or donor
Ask the organisation.
The organisation that holds your record decides what it keeps. Its staff withdraw you in their record system, TellParrot, then erase the copy Roost kept in one action, which destroys the record rather than hiding it, and the erasure is written to their audit trail. If you do not know how to reach them, or they have not answered, write to us instead.
- 02
If you reached an organisation through Facebook, Instagram or Messenger
The same, or remove the app from your Facebook settings.
A lead you submitted or a message you sent to a page becomes a record in that organisation's workspace. Ask the organisation to erase it, or write to us naming the page. Removing Roost under Settings › Apps and websites on Facebook stops anything further being read; it does not delete what the organisation already holds, so ask for that too.
- 03
If you are a page or organisation admin who connected a page
Disconnect it in Settings.
Settings › Social lists every connected Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn page. Disconnect deletes the token that moment; the connection row stays only so old posts still say where they went, and holds nothing that can reach the page again. Mailboxes and calendars work the same way under their own settings screens.
- 04
If you are staff
Ask your workspace owner, or us.
An owner can remove you from the workspace. Your name stays on the audit trail against the things you did, because the trail is the organisation's record of what happened; it is not used for anything else.
- 05
In every case
Write to privacy@tellparrot.com.
Say which organisation it concerns and how you reached it. We confirm what was held, delete it, and tell you when it is done. Backups roll off fourteen days after that.
What deletion is
Destroyed, not hidden.
Erasing a person in Roost removes the record and everything that hung off it: memberships, orders, notes, messages. It follows the withdrawal of the master copy in the organisation's record system, so that the next delivery from that system cannot quietly bring the person back. A copy in a backup is overwritten as the backup rolls off, fourteen days at most.
